A Company of Girls’ Citizen Artist/Scientist Project at Gilsland Farm

This past fall, A Company of Girls embarked on a yearlong Citizen Artist/Scientist project at the Audubon wildlife sanctuary of Gilsland Farm in Falmouth, Maine.  We are so excited and grateful to be collaborating with Maine Audubon in this initiative which aims to give these urban girls an opportunity to create art and build friendships in nature.

Each of the ten girls, aged 11-14, marked a quadrant of field or woods with yarn (about 8’x8’) in the West Meadow, with the Presumpscot River estuary as a constant, epic, backdrop.
