To begin the project, girls have been looking over the PMA’s online collection and choosing three pieces that they are interested in potentially using as the inspiration for designing their wearable piece of art. (Pre-Covid we would have had the opportunity to go to the PMA and let girls explore the museum and choose their pieces - but we are SO excited that the museum has just announced it will be opening up again so we can eventually get the girls there in-person!)
Once they have chosen their three pieces, they fill out an “artwork evaluation” sheet for each piece that teaches them art terminology, reflects on the style of art, the mood, the line, etc. and gives them an opportunity to explore the work deeper and think about the piece in artistic terms.
