Want to share your time and talent with us? ACOG relies on the support of many volunteers to maintain

and expand our unique programming for girls and the larger Greater Portland community. Join us!

Here are some different ways to get involved as an ACOG volunteer:

 

Direct Support Opportunities:

 

  • Program Support - Assist staff and girls on a regular basis during our traditional after school programming at ACOG’s space in Portland

  • Visiting Artist - Lead special culinary, artistic, or theatre programming during one of our after-school sessions at ACOG during the school year

  • Art in the Parks Assistant - Support staff in hosting weekly free art activities for children during the summer

  • Performance Support - Provide an extra set of hands in our lobby to sell concessions and hand out programs during ACOG performances

 

 

Behind the Scenes Support:   

 

  • Community Outreach - help promote ACOG by distributing fliers, posters and promotional materials, reaching out to various media outlets, sharing news and events info on social media, etc.

  • Research/Data Analysisconduct online research for special projects or compile or analyze program data as needed

  • Development Committee - committee which meets on a regular basis to develop strategies and plans for securing ACOG's financial future

  • Special Events Committee - committee which meets on an ad-hoc basis to plan and host several special events throughout the year


 

Corporate/Other Groups

  • Organization - help us get our art supplies, kitchen materials, props and costumes, etc. organized and ready for the next season of programming

  • Mailing preparations - help us compile communications to donors and supporters throughout the year

  • Light construction projects - help us construct props, shelving/storage, etc. to enhance our performances and program space

Can’t come to us?

Hold an art supplies drive at your workplace!
Some of our most needed items include:

  • colored pencils (individual packs)

  • crayons (individual packs)

  • watercolor palettes

  • watercolor paper

We give these items out to kids participating in our outreach programs
