A Company of Girls was founded in 1995 by Odelle Bowman, using a grant from the Maine Office of Substance Abuse to partner with the Girl Scouts and use theater as a tool to empower youth. What began as a small after-school theater program quickly grew into a creative community where girls could build confidence, express themselves, and find a sense of belonging through the arts.
