Project Fellow for Elementary/Middle School Journal Curriculum Update:
A Company of Girls+ is seeking a dedicated and creative team member to lead an exciting project aimed at updating an already published journal designed for late elementary/middle school students. The ideal candidate would be either a student — ideally Master's level with a background in social work or education — or professional with similar qualifications. Our journal is designed to promote confidence and self-exploration and is filled with writing prompts, art projects, fun activities, and more. This project will involve engaging with students in our afterschool program to gather their insights, feedback, and suggestions, ensuring the content for our updated version is relevant and relatable.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct Surveys and Interviews: Design and administer surveys and facilitate focus groups with students to collect their thoughts on the current journal content.

Analyze Feedback: Review and analyze the feedback gathered to identify trends and key areas for improvement.

Content Development: Collaborate with ACOG+ program staff, and select education or social work professionals, to develop updated content that resonates with the target audience. These professionals will be chosen for their expertise and experience, ensuring the journal reflects the needs and interests of the targeted students.

Pilot Testing: Implement a pilot version of the updated journal with students, collecting additional feedback for final revisions.

Reporting: Prepare a report summarizing findings, recommendations, and a plan for the updated journal.
Relevant Experience / Qualifications Desired:
-
Experienced Practitioner (current or retired) with experience in social work, counseling, or other related field - specifically working with elementary and/or middle school students.

Student – Master’s Level preferred - currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in social work, education, or related field.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students.

Experience with survey design and data analysis is a plus.

Passion for education and youth engagement.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

Compensation: Compensation will be commensurate with experience and determined by the agreed hourly fee. Estimating 15-20 hrs p/mth.
A Company of Girls+ is seeking a dedicated and results-driven Fundraising Manager to lead our corporate fundraising efforts, as well as potentially other efforts if qualified/needed. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to secure funding from corporate partners, ensuring alignment with our organization’s mission and goals. This role requires strong relationship-building skills, strategic thinking, and a passion for making a positive impact through corporate partnerships.
This position’s primary responsibility will be fundraising for the organization as well as reporting to the Executive Director and Board of Directors. Other duties may be assigned depending on interests/abilities of the chosen candidate. Candidates must show a history of successful fundraising.
Key Responsibilities:

Corporate Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive corporate fundraising strategy to meet revenue targets and expand the organization's funding base.

Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing corporate partners while identifying and pursuing new corporate sponsorship opportunities.

Proposal Development: Create compelling proposals and presentations to engage corporate sponsors and secure funding commitments.

Collaborative Initiatives: Work closely with the Executive Director to align fundraising efforts with branding and promotional activities.

Board Collaboration and Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with the Board of Directors to align on key initiatives, strategically partnering on target organizations and projects that advance organizational goals.

Networking and Outreach: Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote the organization and foster relationships with potential corporate partners.

Reporting and Analysis: Monitor and evaluate fundraising initiatives, providing regular reports on progress, outcomes, and strategies for improvement to the ED and Board of Directors.

Compliance and Ethics: Ensure all corporate fundraising activities adhere to legal and ethical standards, maintaining the integrity of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

Proven experience in corporate fundraising, business development, or sales.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence corporate stakeholders.

Excellent proposal writing and presentation skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in fundraising software (Little Green Light) and Microsoft Office Suite/Google Drive.

Passion for the organization’s mission and commitment to advancing its goals.

Experience in the nonprofit sector or a related field.

Established network of corporate contacts and sponsors.

Volunteer Sewing Mentorship Opportunity. Be Part of a Creative Journey!
ACOG+ is seeking a few passionate volunteers to support our students in "Project ACOG: A Study in Dress as Art." Join us in this hands-on exploration of art, fashion, and self-expression. In this project students will be choosing a piece from the Portland Museum of Art to inspire the creation of a wearable piece of art. You can learn more about the project by checking out this video​ we made the last time we did this project in 2021 (online COVID version!) on our YouTube Channel.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

Help students with pattern sizing, layout, and cutting.

Assist with sewing machine operation and troubleshooting.

Guide students in hand-sewing techniques.
We’re Looking for Volunteers Who:

Are available Mondays and/or Thursdays from 3-5:30 pm.

Enjoy mentoring middle school-aged students as they bring their creative visions to life.

Feel comfortable in a lively, energetic environment.
